🏫Exchange with Leimond Gakuen High School Students 🌏
At the request of a teacher from Leimond Gakuen Nara, located right next to our school, we held a special trial lesson and exchange activity 😊
First, we gave a brief introduction to topics such as “What is a Japanese language school?”, “How much Japanese can international students understand?”, and “What values are important to Howdy Japanese Language School Nara?” Then, we guided the students to our international students’ classrooms ✨
The first classroom we visited was Class 4.
Having arrived in Japan only this April, our students were excited and nervous about the opportunity to talk with high school students of the same age 😆
The high school students also seemed a little nervous at first, but they bravely stepped into the circle of international students and joined the conversations 😊
Our students asked questions such as, “What do you do on your days off?” They also introduced their home countries and famous local foods, and talked about their hobbies and families. It was wonderful to see them enjoying conversations while using the Japanese they have worked so hard to learn 🌏🍴✨
Although the exchange lasted only 20 minutes,
“It was so much fun!” ✨
“The high school students were very kind!” 😊
“We would love to talk with them again!” 🙌
Our first-year students were absolutely thrilled 🎉
After that, the visitors observed a lesson in Class 2 📚
On that day, Class 2 was working on a project called “Explaining the Rules at Your Part-Time Job” 💻
Since it was presentation day, the high school students were also able to watch the presentations 👀
The students had created and edited their own Google Slides presentations and spent a great deal of time practicing for the event 💪✨
During their presentations, they introduced workplace rules from their part-time jobs at places such as Marugame Seimen, Lawson, and Don Quijote 🏪
Learning that international students work in stores they regularly visit gave the high school students an opportunity to realize how actively international students contribute to their local community 😊
Some students even brought items they actually use at work, such as hats, masks, and uniforms, making the classroom even more lively and exciting 🎊
During break time, students were also seen chatting enthusiastically about the same video games, and we were delighted to see such natural interactions taking place 🎮✨
Although we share the same campus, we rarely have the chance to meet because our schedules are different. We hope that this exchange will help everyone feel comfortable greeting and talking to one another whenever they meet on campus 😊
Thank you very much to everyone from Leimond Gakuen Nara who came to visit us 😊✨
