🌏 We Held a Community Exchange Event 🌏

On Saturday, December 13, we participated as instructors in a parent-child class at an elementary school in Sango Town and held a cultural exchange event introducing the cultures of three countries: Bangladesh, Nepal, and Myanmar ✨
🍽 The main event was a cooking class!
Led by students from Bangladesh, we introduced traditional dishes from Bangladesh, known as one of the countries that consumes the most rice in the world.
The traditional dish “Biryani”, made by cooking rice with spices and ingredients, was lovingly prepared by the students at home and brought to the event.
Together with the participants, we also made a sweet milk dessert called “Payesh”, using Chinigura, a small-grain rice from Bangladesh 🥛
It was wonderful to see the students and children working together during the cooking activity ☺️
At each table, everyone enjoyed the meal while chatting in Japanese, and we heard many happy comments such as,
“It’s spicy but delicious!” and “I want to try making this at home!” ✨
🎲 In another room, participants enjoyed:
• Traditional games from Nepal
• A cultural introduction to Myanmar
• Writing their names in three different languages
It was a full and enriching day.
We were also happy to reunite with people we had met at previous exchange events and could really feel that the students are gradually building warm and friendly connections with the local community.
It was a heartwarming day where language and culture came together naturally through cooking.
