🍱 Trying Our Hand at Japanese Cuisine at the School Lunch Center 🍱
On Friday, December 12, with the generous support of the Sango Town School Lunch Center, we held another Japanese cooking class this year 🍽
After receiving a lesson from the staff in advance, it was time to start cooking 😀
The students were full of curiosity, and it was wonderful to see them working together so enthusiastically 😊
On this day, the center was preparing meals for about 2,000 people.
The students were amazed by the clean and well-organized kitchen 😮
👇 Today’s menu 👇
🍙 Rice balls (okaka, kombu, and salt)
🥢 Miso soup
🐟 Grilled salmon
🥬 Spinach with sesame dressing
The students eagerly tasted “dashi” for the first time and enjoyed the fresh discovery, saying, “It tastes like fish!” 🎉
Some students even tried shiso leaves for the first time 🙌
After the class, the students were able to express their gratitude directly to the staff in Japanese, saying things like “It was delicious” and “Thank you for teaching us how to cook” 🥰
Through this experience, they learned about Japanese food culture, connected with people in the community, and experienced “living Japanese” in a truly meaningful way ✨
To everyone at the Sango Town School Lunch Center, thank you very much 😊
