🏫 Exchange Event with Sango Elementary School 5th Graders! ✨

On November 6, two groups of our students had the opportunity to take part in an exchange event with the 5th graders of Sango Elementary School! It was a very valuable experience where they could interact with “living Japanese” and deepen their intercultural understanding.

During the exchange, the students quickly became friends through activities such as a school tour and recreation in the gymnasium (including games like Daruma-san ga koronda).
Many of our students said that the 5th graders kindly explained things in easy-to-understand, “simple Japanese.”✨️
Even when they couldn’t communicate through words, they tried to connect by showing photos and using gestures, and everyone had smiles on their faces throughout the event.

After the exchange, our students wrote letters to the 5th graders to express their gratitude. This experience seems to have become a great source of motivation for them to continue studying and living in Japan. Many commented, “It was so much fun!” and “The elementary school students spoke to us in kind, simple Japanese!” 😊

A few days later, we also received letters from the elementary school students☺️
They had written our students’ names and mentioned the things they talked about during the exchange. Our two groups were deeply moved by the cute letters—which were also perfect real-life learning materials!—and read each one carefully with big smiles😍
