πβ¨ Cooking Class β¨π
On January 22, Class 1 took part in a cooking class at the school lunch center π©βπ³π¨βπ³
During their preparatory lessons, the students had already learned about dashi (Japanese soup stock). However, once the process of making dashi began right in front of them, they were completely fascinated πβ¨
Water that had been soaked with kombu was brought to a boil, bonito flakes were added, and the stock was carefully strained π²
When asked, βWho would like to taste the finished dashi?β many hands shot up πββοΈπββοΈβso many that all the tasting cups were quickly gone.
The staff at the center were impressed by how eagerly the students tried this new flavor for the first time β¨
Once the dashi was ready, the students split into groups and efficiently began cooking miso soup, grilled salmon, spinach with sesame dressing, and rice balls πͺπ
Some carefully removed scales from the salmon, others squeezed the boiled spinach with all their strength, and some enthusiastically boiled the miso soup π₯βeveryone worked with serious focus and enthusiasm.
The food was beautifully plated, placed on trays, and photographed before eating πΈ, after which the groups enjoyed their meal together π
Whether it was their very first time eating Japanese food since coming to Japan, or they were already familiar with it, all the students shared the same comment:
βItβs very delicious!β ππ
We would like to sincerely thank everyone at the school lunch center for providing us with this valuable opportunity πββοΈπββοΈ
